Blaqbonez, Ladipoe and Cheque react after Wizkid addresses the rap music genre as being dead and boring

Fast-Rising Nigerian rappers, Blaqbonez, Ladipoe, Cheque have taken to social media to react after award-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun professionally known as Wizkid addresses the rap music genre as being dead and boring.

Recall Intel Region reported that Wizkid who recently releases his 5th studio album, More Love Less Ego during an interview with 10 magazine, a British luxury quarterly magazine published in London, UK as he drags Nigerian rappers that include, MI Abaga, Vector, Olamide, Reminisce, Falz among others.

According to Wizkid, the music genre rap is dead and boring as he noted that most of these rappers rap on the same beats, dished out the same style among others as there is no development. He added that Afrobeats is the real thing now.

However, Wizkid statement wasn’t welcomed by some Nigerian rappers as Oladips earlier throws shade at Wizkid and further advised him to go and sleep and that was just the beginning.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Blaqbonez who recently released his second studio album “Young Preacher” said he understands that rap is not the most sought after genre but rap is not dead.

He tweeted; “of the tons of projects this WHOLE year, Young Preacher was top 10 first week streams on Apple music, Boomplay, Spotify & audiomack, Rap isn’t dead, not the most sort after genre, but dead? NOOOOOOOO.”

He added; “I’m not dead, I’m handsome.”

Rapper Ladipoe, the “Big Energy” hitmaker signed to Don Jazzy Mavin Records via his official Twitter handle tweeted; “I’m not dead, I’m $exy.

Nigerian singer and rapper, Cheque, born Akinbi Bamidele Brett who is well known for his hit song “Histrory” via his official Twitter handle also reacted to Wizkid statement about the rap music genre as he advised him to stay in his lane.
