Famous Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor professionally known as Rema has finally revealed the names of four artistes who inspired him to do music.
Rema who now joined Wizkid on the list African artistes with over 1billion streams on Spotify made this revelation during an interview with Hip TV.
Ignoring Davido, Rema the “Calm Down” hitmaker said that Wizkid, Burna Boy, and late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti were his musical inspirations.
He also revealed that one of the foreign artists who inspired him was American billionaire rapper Kanye West.
Rema claimed that Wizkid’s way of life, Burna Boy’s life story, and Kanye West’s inventiveness are what motivated him to do music.
According to him, he plans to stay consistent by being original and unique.
“I’m inspired by Burna [Boy] because of his story. Fela [Kuti] inspires me. Kanye West [inspires me] because of how far he goes in terms of his creativity, and production I really like Wiz [kid] because of how he carries himself.”
