Eight students of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Sagamu, Ogun state, have built a humaniod robot that can move some distance, stretches hand, shakes hands and interact with people.
In the video making the rounds online, they said the 6 feet height robot, with 60kg weight and maximum speed of 10 km/hr was named Okikiola-Sagamu A.K.A Kiki-Saggy.
They said it was a vision of the school’s Principal and Director, Dr Mrs Muyibat Olodo, who had flair for technology, most especially, coding Robotics and Artificial intelligence.
According to the eight students, Kiki-Saggy works with a virtual assistant and by extension can respond to any global question.
In other to have a conversation with Kiki-Saggy ones picture has to be taken and shared with the robot and the robot will recognize the person.
According to one of the robotics team, it took them almost a year to build it adding that they faced some challenges such as re-coding, reprogramming, removing errors as well as merging the software and camera in order to achieve their goals.
