Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely recognized as Mohbad, has disclosed that his former spouse, who also served as Mohbad’s first stepmother, once confronted him with the ultimatum to pick between Mohbad and her.
Aloba said this while clarifying Mohbad’s lyric in the song, “Sorry”
Aloba, when providing additional details about the lyrics, revealed that his association with her was complicated.

He stated that his decision in choosing Mohbad over her led to her packing out from the family.
“The stepmother told me one day, ‘Choose me or your son.’ I chose my son (Mohbad) and she packed her loads and left. I and the lady were together for more than seven years. I married her around 2005. That stepmother did not want me to send Mohbad to school, and I chose my son. And she decided to leave,” Aloba said while speaking exclusively with Saturday PUNCH.
Recall Intel Region reported that 27 Mohbad died on September 12th 2023 in controversial circumstances. He was buried the next day, September 13th 2023.
Nigerians however demanded for autopsy following startling revelations of him being harassed, bullied and assaulted while he was alive.

The remains of the late Mohbad have been exhumed, autopsy completed and Nigerians and other people in the world await the result.
