Headies Award is one of the trending conversation on social media platforms as the organizers of the prestigious award finally released the full list of nominees today, May 24, 2022.
However, the anticipated list of nominees spilted into various categories have triggered several reactions from internet users, while some trends their favorites for being on the Headies nominees list, other frown at the Headies Award because their favourite were absent from the categories.
The 15th Headies Award is scheduled to hold on the Saturday, the 2nd of July 2022 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, U.S.A.

However, while Wizkid gets nominated in 9 categories that include, Artiste of the Year, African Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Male, Best Collaboration, Best Recording, Best R&B Single, Best Afrobeats Album, and Album of the Year, Some others artistes that include, Portable got nominated in two categories, Davido, Olamide, Burnaboy, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, Adekunle Gold, Simi and others also get several nominations.
However, some music lovers were unhappy and took to popular social media platforms especially Twitter to express their utmost disappointment at Headies over the fact that singers that include, Ckay, Rema and Kizz Daniel weren’t nominated in any category of the prestigious award.
While expressing their displeasure towards to the nominees list, those internet users refers to the Headies award as being trashed, substandard and full of corrupted organizes for them to overlooked those three artistes and what they have contributed to Afrobeats over the past few years.
