‘I weep for this country’ – Iyabo Ojo reacts to plans to release Baba Ijesha

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has taken to social media where she reacted to the plan by the Lagos state police command revealed plans to release embattled Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha for allegedly raping a teenager for 7 years.

Through a senior officer, the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed to PUNCH Metro that a directive has been issued to release Baba Ijesha from police custody within the next 24 hours.

The police disclosed the release is due to the ongoing strike by members of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, which has made it impossible for the courts to sit, and the suspect could not be detained indefinitely without trial.

In a post on her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo shared a screenshot of the definition of rape and sexual assault, which includes any act of indecency.

She accompanied the post with the caption;
