“I’m a big Wizkid fan but right now, I’m disappointed” – Rapper Blaqbonez pours out emotions in a lengthy post (Video)

Popular Nigerian rapper, Emeka Akumefule professionally known as Blaqbonez in a lengthy post pours out emotions following Wizkid criticism of rap.

In a latest post via his verified Twitter handle, Blaqbonez who claimed to be a big fan of Wizkid expressed his utmost disappointment at the singer following his controversial statement about rap being dead and boring.

Recall Intel Region reported that Wizkid, the “Essence” crooner during an interview with 10 magazine argued for the dominance of Afrobeats over the rap music genre, Hip Hop. He further berated Nigerian rappers as non-rappers and went on to list the real rappers in the Africa music industry.

However, this Wizkid statement wasn’t welcomed by most Nigerian rappers that include, M1 Abaga, Ycee, Oladips, Ladipoe, Blaqbonez, Cheque among others while some throw shades at the singer, other said rap is not dead.

Following his first reply to Wizkid, Blaqbonez who has created a highly marketable brand name for himself with 2 albums “$ex over love” and “Young Preacher” uttered that Wizkid actions following following the interview was heavily degrading and undeserved.

He wrote, “Heart & Soul”

He added, “The last few days had me reflecting, looking back at how far I’ve come, the Wins and the Losses, whatever rap may or may not be, it got me this, everything i have, the cult like fans who by far are the best part of everything. I said that to say i’m disappointed, everyone knows I’m a big wizkid fan, maybe even a dick rider on twitter but rn I’m disappointed, i am, I can’t hide my emotions, I wasn’t even mad at the magazine article, those are conversations I’ve even had behind the scenes, but the actions that followed can’t be defended, heavily degrading and undeserved but I’d keep doing my thing, carrying the most bashed and the most attacked genre on my back, showing the world what a Nigerian rapper looks like. I’d keep dropping these hits, classic albums, selling out my shows, however far it takes me I’m good with it long as i can feed my family. With that said Stream Young Preacher forever.” See his below;

@Don_Saiflex: @BlaqBonez You are disappointed? As per he mentioned you (African rappers) in the first place?

@Ayomidegambari:  I’m trying to read Wiz mind when he was saying that, basically i believe he meant to say he’s disappointed at the level of Rap genre in Nigeria now, no one taking bigger steps internationally. Regardless, he’s responsible for his actions. But no reduce ur love for am bruh!

@FineBoy_Larey: Actually, Big Wiz’s article could have been misinterpreted, but his actions and words afterwards are really bad and degrading, let’s not lie. Big ups to our rappers, you guys.

@Selflessprince: This is the very first time I will support your opinion. Wizkid is largely known for keeping calm whenever people diss him. But he lost it all recently. I can never rate Wiz again.

@Seankleann: You are already relevant in this industry because you are seriously making waves especially with your latest Album, so cool. So i wonder why you are chasing clout with this ish when he clearly wasn’t dissing you all in the first place. “I’m disappointed in you.”

@Boltzmann_ibile: If you know this is a convo you’ve had countless times and more so tha he wasn’t even referring to Naija rappers nd your mates come out for him like that insulting his ex artist, his family and him, do you pause to wonder how bad he would have felt or his feelings are not valid?

@G_benmuller: “You aren’t even mad at the magazine article “ Fr ? So you still think he was referring to you people ? The actions that follows it ? Bro wiz gave you your first o2 performance and you still think he was referring to you Nigeria rappers ? Smh.

@Oluslim01; Lool… Let’s act like what your fellow rappers did wasn’t degrading too… He, his son, his craft and his signee were dragged… You don’t get to tell him how to react! But yeah, just do you.
