Popular Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola better known as DJ Cuppy during an interview disclosed that it’s not by force for people to listening to her music as he concluded that they are free to listen to other artistes.
She made this known in a recent interview with BBC News Pidgin, while noting that she has numerous challenges which fans and critics know nothing about
DJ Cuppy who revealed that she wasn’t paid for her performance as the DJ during her grandma’s recent 90th birthday party said that people think she is enjoying life simply because she’s the daughter of billionaire, Femi Otedola, but they do not understand her struggles.
She said that her experience as a female DJ in Nigeria is a daily challenge as people keep criticising her, but she believes in doing what she loves.
The music producer said that what motivates her to keep going is the young people in Nigeria, such that she can create opportunities for the many unemployed youths.
Cuppy also sent a message to people who tell her to stop singing, whereby she said none of them is being forced to listen to her.
In her words; ”I just dey do wetin I want to do, we get plenty artiste for Nigeria, you fit listen to their music.”
