Mary Remmy Njoku, Williams Uchemba give thanks to God as Nigeria fails to qualify for the 2022 World cup

Yesterday, March 29, the Nigerian national team fails to qualify for the 2022 World Cup that will take place in Qatar after they played 1-1 draw with the Ghanaian national team at the Abuja National Stadium. The Black stars of Ghana were able to kicked out the Super Eagles on aggregate following the goalless draw played during the first leg in Ghana. 

However, the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the prestigious world cup has triggered several reactions from Nigerians while some accused the entire team and vandalized the Abuja stadium, some others that include, actors, Mary Remy Njoku and Wiliam Uchemba give thanks to God that the country didn’t make it to Qatar 2022.

Taking to her verified Instagram page, actress and founder of ROK TV channels, Mary Njoku disclosed that qualifying for the World Cup would have been a total distraction nothing that Nigerians need to focus on the real problems in the country.

She wrote;

 “Thank God we didn’t qualify for the world cup. It would have been a distraction.

“We need to focus on the real problems in Nigeria. And pressure the Govt to do something. An attack on a train! An attack at the airport The insecurity in Nigeria is alarming! No more unnecessary distractions!!!! This needs everyone’s attention!!.”

Also, Actor William Uchemba, a father of one said that it’s good we lost the match so that the citizens can channel their anger on the situation of things in the country.

He wrote; “Maybe it’s good we lost

So we can channel our anger on the pressing issue in the country

Almost 1000 Nigerian citizens cannot be accounted for and some people are acting like It’s a normal thing.

If it takes lossing a Match to get us upset and know that we are in a hell hole so be it.

Some heads of state are yet to make a statement on the issue I guess they are busy planning for 2023.”
