Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) dedicates victories against US and Argentina to late Sound Sultan

As reactions continue to trail the death of veteran Nigerian singer, Sound Sultan, the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) dedicates its victories to him.

The NBBF took to Twitter to dedicate their victories against US and Argentina to the late Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan.

The Icon who’s not only a singer and songwriter also made a great impact in the Basketball league in Nigeria.

Sound Sultan was a huge basketball enthusiast. He played in school and in 2015 acquired a stake in the Lagos Islanders, a Lagos-based basketball club founded in 1984.

He actively worked to promote the sport in Lagos and Nigeria.

NBBF tweeted; 

“We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (@Soundsultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against @usabasketball, was when you gave up the ghost. RIP,”
