Job Description:
  • Responsible for RAN network database configuration management, follow up on major escalated failures until resolution, Control the implementation of all job orders that take place within the network, generate daily reports of failures exceeding defined KPI, and follow through on all customer complaints.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide support to regional operation on operational requirement.
  • Managing acceptance and signing of ATP documents, JCC and warranty certificates
  • Service Provider Service Level Agreement management
  • Support the operational interface to both internal and external stakeholders especially deployment, finance, commercial, Legal & Regulatory and Supply Chain.
  • Ensure that all regional requirements and deliverables of operations and maintenance are met timely.
  • Provide support to regional teams to ensure that all issues raised gets resolved timely.
  • Maintain operation network database
  • Supervise RAN software roll-out after first node implementation
  • Audit Network configuration to ensure that all the nodes are running with latest software.
  • Supervise and conduct acceptance test for all the new nodes to be integrated to the network.
  • Leading/Guiding the MS team during hardware and software change implementation
  • Supervise all special events projects like improvement drives, festival target optimization (Charismas, EID & New Year etc), Bombed/burnt sites restoration.
  • Provide support for all RAN related issue coming from customer, CSD.
  • Provide technical governance with MS partners.
  • Follow up on the reported problem.
  • Ensure that all the services providers strictly follow the SLA and report any deviation.
  • Validate and sign off monthly MS active.


  • Provide Daily/weekly/monthly network reports.
  • Measure KPIs of the Networks and report variance.


  • Monitor Network node availability.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA where necessary to ensure Airtel interest is not jeopardize at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering or any related Applied Science field.

Relevant Experience:

  • At least 5 years Networks Operational experience in GSM environment.
  • Technical knowledge on Network Elements (Switching Systems, RAN, MPBN and SIGTRAN)
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on Network Elements.
  • Experience in different network vendor area, such as Ericsson, ZTE, Huawei, NSN etc.

Job Description:

Efficient Cash Flow Forecasting and Liquidity Management, Bank Accounts Administration of Bank. Ensuring Optimal performance of Collection/Payment Channels. Receivables Monitoring and Ensuring adequate Funding for Company’s Obligations as appropriate. Management of Trade transactions – LC’s/CCI’s/FX Dealings.


Accurate Liquidity Report

  • Ensure all Bank Account Statements are received/downloaded daily.
  • Review of Bank Statements to verify balances and debits to payment/transfer instructions.

  • Effective Decision on Funds Management to ensure efficient utilization of Funds.

Preparation of Periodic Cash Flow Forecast

  • Maintain monthly cash flow forecast.

  • Prepare Ad-Hoc Cash Forecast as and when required to determine Funding Gap for Specific requirements.

Proper Accounting for all Transactions Relating to Funds Transfers on ERP

  • Prepare schedule of Inter-Bank transfers for posting on ERP.
  • Capture GL journals of other postings on ERP for posting by AP i.e. Deposits and Credit Interests.
  • Reconciliation of interbank postings on ERP
  • Ensure Closure of Month End with no outstanding Postings from Treasury

Accurate and Timely Submission of Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, and other periodic treasury related report

  • Liaison with Relevant Units on the inputs for the preparation of the Daily Cash Report (DCR).
  • Ensure accuracy and timely submissions of all Reports
  • Liaison and resolution of Queries from Group Treasury on periodic reports
  • Ensure that internal receivable targets are promptly shared and monitored.

Management of Trade related issues

  • Ensure appropriate Banks are provided for LC and CCI establishments.
  • Close all issues relating to LC establishments with Banks.
  • Engage Banks to source for FX for foreign remittances.
  • Ensure adequate liquidity in Banks for all FX related transactions.
  • Ensure timely confirmation and settlement of FX trades.

Smooth Processing of Cash at Airtel Showrooms

  • Ensure resolution of cash related issues between at the Showrooms.
  • Ensure issues with POS terminals are resolved in the Showrooms.
  • Proper management of mobile money mode of collection in all showrooms.

Submission of Flash and Forecast for Interest and Bank Charges

  • Prepare and submit monthly forecast for interest and bank charges based on expected spend.
  • Prepare and submit monthly forecast for loan and cash & cash equivalent balances.

Fund and facilities management

  • Ensuring that facilities are available and in place.
  • Review of facility agreements and offer letters
  • Performing rates survey with banks for deposit placements
  • Investing fund withing Airtel Africa Policy

Good relationship with Partner Banks

  • Ensure a good relationship is maintained with all Partner Banks
Qualification and Requirement:

Educational Level:

Must have:

  • A university degree i.e., B.Sc./HND in Social Sciences or any numerate discipline
  • Professional qualification (ACIB, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA) is mandatory – completed or almost completed.
  • Master’s degree and/ or MBA will be an added advantage.

This function is expected to act as the representative for business, technical and functional requirements in IP Packet backbone solutions to support both Mobile and Enterprise services. The function will define the optimal topology of the IP core network to meet a premium service level agreements and industry architecture for next generation IP networks; To evaluate network design and define integrated planning/implementation criteria and guidelines with partners for capacity management and dimensioning of the IP core network; Also would evaluate delivery of IP projects to designed SLAs whilst exploring the most efficient ways to deliver any new functional requirements placed upon the 2G/3G/LTE Mobile Network which includes but not limited to voice, data and other services.


MPBN Core Planning and Architecture Design To Ensure Uninterrupted Voice & Data Service Delivery

  • Analyze business requirements and processes before converting ideas into a solution design; where required, research into new technology and development in Telecommunication industry with regards to IP packet backbone and Data services.
  • Liaise with partner teams, Airtel HQ and other departments to assure seamless IP packet backbone and data network architecture, implementation and deployment of key networks systems through the full delivery life cycle from initial design to full operational handover.
  • Ensure projects are aligned with the Annual Operating Program (AOP)
  • Ensure that all IP backbone and edge devices are functioning as per the business and network requirements.
  • Provide a pathway towards establishing a seamless MPLS network with the IPRAN and Transmission

Detailed and Effective Documentation

  • Ensure that the project related documentation reflects a fit-for-purpose design and compiles with the contractual vendor requirements.
  • On concept of solutions proffered and prior to implementationdocumentation in the form of SD, HLD and LLD designs should be prepared to include technical functionality, platform design and platform integration with relevant network elements.
  • Update all IP Core documentation and topology to reflect running solution.
  • Manage IP Network addressing and allocation for entire network including Access (IPRAN)

Capacity Planning

  • Perform adequate dimensioning, of all IP nodes, interfaces – in accordance with network growth and projections.
  • Handshake with transmission on Submarine/fiber capacity required to support projected MPBN core and Edge interface capacity.
  • Continuously monitor network traffic, trends and various parameters to ensure Network elements have required capacity to cater for projected traffic growth with enough headroom for resilience purpose. Where required, take corrective action with input from Operations and performance teams.
  • Ensure planning is actual with very minimal or no inventory left over in ordered equipment for capacity expansion/upgrade.

Expand & Evolve Core Network

  • Understand the business requirements and impact on the IP backbone to city-level granularity.
  • Responsible for planning all expansion of nodes well in advance.
  • Plan evolution of IP backbone to best industry practices.

Employee Engagement

  • Hold necessary Kick off meetings with stakeholders where/when required.
  • Always maintain high Team Harmony and Engagement with both internal and external teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage delivery of internal projects relating to IP Backbone from solution to go-live.
  • Advise other stakeholder networks on best connection practices to the backbone network.

Vendor/Partner Management

  • Ensuring that partners deliver the projects to the high quality and expected first time right.
  • Manage Project from Ordering to delivery; Hold kick-off and recurrent governance meetings with Vendors to ensure full control and smooth delivery.

New Initiatives

  • Explore new initiatives which meet business requirements by developing and delivering cost efficient delivery plans of proposed solutions.
  • Technology assessments and POC trials (RFI/RFP/RFQ). Verification of solutions before roll-out.

Time Management

  • Prioritize self-workload as required to meet the fluctuating demands of business and requirements from other stakeholders.
Qualification and Requirement:

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

All of the following:

  • Bachelor/Masters of Telecommunication/Electronic Engineering degree/Computer Science
  • Detailed working Telecommunications Knowledge

  • Detailed understanding of IP/MPLS and its role in the telecommunications industry.

Relevant Experience
