Job Description:
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the overall quality and performance framework, policies, processes and procedures
  • Promote and support a risk minimizing culture in alignment with Compliance’s role as the second line of defense
  • Monitor compliance to relevant laws and regulations and policies and processes, through the introduction and execution of an effective compliance program 
  • Liaise with other quality functions to create and apply uniform quality systems, metrics and policies and drive continuous quality improvement
  • Track and ensure all MTNN policies, processes and procedures are in line with the ISO standards
  • Implement system and process audits to check existing policies, procedures, practices and technology
  • Conduct a requirement analysis to identify business needs and project opportunities
  • Facilitate the awareness, acquisition and maintenance of ISO accreditation 
  • Assist in coordinating day-to-day performance and quality monitoring exercises, implementing effective, proactive, quality processes at the operating level that will positively impact quality and enhance customer satisfactions.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • First Degree in any discipline, but preferably in Engineering / Technical discipline
  • Fluent in English 

Experience:

  • 3 – 7 years experience which includes:
    • Experience working in a medium organization 
    • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a technical role in the telecoms environment.
    • Consulting experience in a technical environment

Analyst - Business Assurance Change Management, Finance

Job Description:
  • Actively participate in cross-functional change and technical review sessions
  • Actively participate in IT/NWG change advisory board sessions and also technical review sessions
  • Clearly communicate and drive participation in and awareness of BAFM team in  business change related activities
  • Coordinate and perform data quality checks pre- and post-network system migration
  • Ensure IT/NWG and operational teams perform tests and sanity checks on post migrated data
  • Ensure that relevant BAFM documentation, systems and tools are updated to reflect the impact of business, IT or network changes
  • Ensure changes on BAFM systems and tools follow defined change management procedures for either operational business changes by BAFM team or technical changes from IT and vendor managed service support
  • Communicate impact of planned/proposed products/business or systems changes to BAFM team, senior management and business teams where necessary
  • Participate and coordinate pre- and post-change/data migration tests with BAFM operations
  • Review product concept document (PCD), systems documentation etc. for possible vulnerabilities that could lead to revenue leakage
  • Design, develop and implement adequate controls on BAFM system for automated risk monitoring and fault detection with respect to performed changes or migrations
  • Act as the focal point when major incidents occur, taking the lead to analyze the incident and report findings to management
  • Monitor major financial risk areas for possible undetected leakage or abuse. Utilize data analytics and other tools to obtain customer insights
  • Support commercial and technical teams in the testing and delivery of new products, campaigns, services and systems
  • Support commercial and technical teams in revenue impacting change activities
  • Support the design, implementation and management of BA technology to ensure effective implementation, maintenance and support of business systems
  • Support change-related leakage risk insight and dissemination that allows MTN to effectively manage its processes and external relationships in recovery and prevention of loss
  • Leverage data analytics to have an instant view of business risk areas, for fast detection of anomalies that might have significant impact on MTN Nigeria
  • Perform any other Business Assurance related function as may be assigned by Manager and Senior Management
Qualification and Requirement:

Education:

  • Essential – First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering or related numerate discipline
  • Desirable – Certification in Data Analytics, SQL, ORACLE, JAVA or Other Query Languages
  • Advantageous – Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) and/or Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA)
  • Fluent in English

Experience:

  • 3 – 7 years’ experience in an area of specialization; with experience working with others
  • At least 1 year in assurance or related role in a large organization.
  • At least 1 year in relevant sector/industry relevant role, i.e. accounting, auditing, banking, finance, technology.
  • Experience in data analysis in large organization with large volume of data.

Advisor - Compliance Monitoring and Assurance, Risk and Compliance

Job Description:
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders across all MTN Nigeria business divisions to drive compliance with identified regulatory and statutory requirements and obligations
  • Implement compliance monitoring activities in line with the company-wide risk-based compliance program and follow-up on agreed mitigation actions and plans to ensure all non-compliance issues are closed
  • Assist with scheduled ad-hoc compliance reviews and audits of high risk areas
  • Provide second line assurance to the business through compliance monitoring activities across all business lines, that operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and key process owners to obtain evidence of compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Produce high quality monitoring reports and analysis with insights on compliance monitoring activities, outcomes and trends
  • Assist with preparing standard and ad-hoc information and data reports to the Group, executive management and other stakeholders as required
  • Monitor observance of compliance regulations and coordinate activities with the Internal Audit & Fraud Management team
  • Stay abreast of all relevant compliance and regulatory requirements within the Telecommunications Industry

Job Description:
  • Evaluate the impact of various management proposals, provide supporting data and information for decision support and maintain formal processes through to proposal (Business Cases Development).
  • Evaluate the impact of MTNN Value Propositions and P&S to ensure that insights on performance and review of such (VP and P&S) are provided for decision making.
  • Incorporate business rules within a financial model to enable the effective evaluation of the product.
  • Recommend alternative business case and/or financial scenarios to achieve the most favorable financial return and risk profile for MTNN.

  • Benchmark competition and international operators tariff regimes in order to advice and recommend appropriate actions to the Business.

  • Team up closely with Product and Services, Business and Consumer Divisions (Marketing Department) to provide continuous 2-way communication regarding the financial aspects of the product under assessment.
  • Participate in the entire project lifecycle from new product evaluation and product implementation to ongoing product evaluation
  • Act as a key partner to the creation of appropriate business case financial metrics and the continual assessment of the appropriate application of these metrics to financial analysis.

Job Description:
  • Deliver an effective second line of defence through the operationalization of the Operating License Compliance Monitoring and Testing model.
  • Implement standards for testing methodologies, techniques and procedures and conduct robust quality standard program.
  • Stay abreast of all relevant compliance and regulatory requirements within the Telecommunications Industry
  • Monitor license obligations and rights as they apply to MTN. Identify requirements, co-ordinate the information collation and submission through appropriate channels. 
  • Assess whether the necessary and effective compliance and enforcement measures are actively pursued in relation to statutory provisions, by-laws and licensing conditions applicable to MTN.
  • Assess whether adequate policies and procedures exist to ensure compliance to Operating License requirements and assist management with the development of these where they are lacking.
  • Execute compliance audit programs to determine organizational vulnerabilities and highlight risks.
  • Maintain continuous oversight of collection and dissemination of any regulatory, Compliance Monitoring and Testing and audit issues in order to provide ongoing advice and guidance to the General Manager: Compliance.
  • Understand the impact of potential changes driven by the regional/local regulators, industry, marketplace, and or legal environment and report these appropriately.
  • Undertake investigations related to non-compliance, identify issues and seek to resolve problems in a timely manner in line with regulatory requirements as defined by Regulators or MTN policies.
  • Analyze Regulatory trends and perform risk assessments to identify areas of impact. Adapt the compliance monitoring programs accordingly. Assess whether the business is informed accordingly in order to proactively prepare for changes. 
  • Review the quality of MTNN’s Compliance Monitoring and Testing programs and continuously improve its maturity.
  • Report on monitoring and testing results to the GM, Compliance and assist with relevant Excom and Board reporting.
  • Monitor and report on the operating license and compliance with best practice and processes. 
  • Provide guidance to continuously enhance awareness and understanding of operating license compliance and policy issues, obligations and requirements.
  • Provide input into strategies for ensuring future compliance and mitigation of risk i.e. Material legislations, fines and reporting requirements for various regulators. 
  • Manage the preparation and recommend the departmental budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all departmental activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.
  • Implementation of Operating License frameworks.
  • Ensure increased awareness of Operating License regulations and legislation.
  • Be accessible to other team members and support all aspects of the licensing functions. 
Qualification and Requirement:

Education:

  • First Degree in any relevant discipline
  • Post graduate qualification (MBA/CA/Masters) advantageous 
  • Fluent in English

Experience:
6 – 13 years’ experience which includes:

  • Management experience with at least 3 years in relevant sector/industry/area of specialization (understanding of emerging markets is advantageous)
  • Work experience across diverse cultures
  • Experience working in a medium to large organization
