Job Description:

The incumbent will perform wide-ranging anti-fraud investigations in support of consular operations, including document analysis, phone and in-person interviews, verification of documents and case details with government officials, and site visits. Investigations primarily focus on analysis of facts to support fraud determinations that can affect whether an applicant is eligible for a citizenship or an immigration benefit. The position requires a high-level of independent judgement, decision-making and careful protection of sensitive information. On a daily basis, the incumbent must distill complex investigations into succinct summaries of fact that consular officers use in forming case adjudications and drafting denial and revocation memos. 

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience as an investigator or researcher for the Police, Court, Law Firm, Insurance company, Government or private agency is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

Thorough knowledge of the Nigerian legal system and official documents is required. Knowledge of Nigerian culture, customs and family relationships is required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to gain the confidence of those with access to information about fraudulent documents and criminal activities. 

Education Requirements:

  • A University degree in Law, Psychology, Forensics, Economics or Criminology is required.

Basic Function: The incumbent Provides technical security support and services to posts in its respective geographic region. Manages the ESC/ESO inventory and is responsible for supply chain management, logistics operations, procurement, and inventory reconciliation of technical systems and equipment maintained by the ESC/ESO at its post of residence and constituent posts throughout the region. Assists with office administrative duties, travel arrangements, and tracking the office travel budget.

Senior Security Investigator

Job Description:

The incumbent serves as the Senior Security Analyst embedded within the FSNI office which specializes in criminal threat management and/or terrorist investigations against any Department of State equity. The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert guidance and support to office investigations and protective intelligence operations. S/he provides technical and analytical support to RSO personnel in planning, development, and assisting in information gathering and in criminal, threat management and terrorist investigations. Responsibilities include researching, compiling, and providing advice in the interpretation of data pertaining to the security environment. Supervise the Analytical Group comprised of three (3) Security Analysts. Works on a rotational shift schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years professional work experience in journalism, security administration, politics, or statistics is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Must know all the different organizations in the embassy and how they work together. Must know rules/laws of the country, political climate, crime and terrorism environment.

Education Requirements:

  • University degree in Political Science, Criminology, Statistics, Cultural/Religious Studies, or Computer Science is required.
