A Nigerian software Engineer, identified as Favour Afolayan has narrated how Nigeria’s Power Holding Company popularly known as NEPA embarrassed him while he was having a live video call with his foreign employer.
The man made this known through his twitter handle that NEPA, in their usual manner, disconnected the power supply in his area while he was having an onboarding call with his foreign boss.
He shared a photo which captured him having the call on his laptop with the foreign boss while his whole room went totally dark as a result of the power outage.
Tweeting from Uyo, Nigeria, the developer with Twitter handle @Ajidefeerefe captioned the photo; ”Nepa!!! tori olorun. Onboarding call, for God’s sake 🤣🤣”

While some twitter users found humour in what NEPA has done to him, others gave recommendations on how he can avoid such embarrassing moment in the future.

Kachie said: “sometimes, you just need to come correct. Having the mindset that this could happen and backups should be available. your new team members don’t know what is NEPA!”
Chukwuemeke wrote: “Let me share a tip I used. Get a ring light with USB. Plug it to a power bank or UPS or something. Let that be your backup lighting if you’re using laptop. When NEPA takes light, you can just take a break and go turn on your gen. At least your not in some unexpected darkness.”
Awe Lagos: “😅😅😅 see fuckup. You sef why you no do unboarding during the day😅”
