He wrote, “Last night, alongside our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, we had a great meeting with our former President, H.E. Goodluck Jonathan. There, we discussed our plans to #RecoverNigeria with His Excellency”.

Although the reason for the meeting is not disclosed, it was said that Goodluck Jonathan has been asked to dialogue with aggrieved members of the party who have insisted on the resignation of the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Recall that since the emergence of Atiku as the party’s presidential candidate, some five governors known as G-5, led by Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike protested that power in the party is more concentrated in the north and as such, the Ayu should resign and give room for a southerner.

The agrreived governors are Ortom, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Ifeanyi Ugwanyi of Enugu, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

They recently met with Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed who is also harbouring some grievances, but it was said that the meeting was never to woo him.
