Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule has dismissed online ratings that put Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party ahead of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate (PDP) Atiku Abubakar.
Sule made the statement on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, while featuring on the Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.
He claimed that the criticisms of Obi, who was a former governor of Anambra State, by the current Governor, Charles Soludo, had devalued Obi as a presidential candidate to less than 10 kobo.
Sule said that the current governor of Anambra State where Peter Obi was governor is the right person to tell what happened during the period of Peter Obi in that State.
“So, if you go to Anambra, look at what the governor of Anambra (is saying). They were in the same party. It’s not that they changed parties. It’s Peter Obi that changed parties, but it’s the same All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
“So, if you go and see what he is saying today about Peter Obi, you will not buy Peter Obi for 10 kobo.”
He added that there is no comparison between Tinubu and Obi, arguing that Tinubu has made the economy of Lagos better today than Anambra State.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, said the ruling party will win all 2023 elections “by hook or crook.”
The State’s party chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, stated this while speaking on Wednesday, in Kano, at the flag-off of the party’s governorship campaign in Gaya Local Government Area (LGA).
“People are saying that I should stop saying the APC would capture Kano by hook or crook. I want to tell this gathering that the APC would capture Kano by hook or crook.
“We have today demonstrated our resolve of winning the election from top to bottom come the year 2023.
“Gaya, as you know, is the home of APC. No political party can match our strength and our cloud. We are determined to take the bull by the horn in maintaining our dominance. Gawuna is our candidate and is going to be the next governor of Kano state.
“We have made all the necessary preparations — the colourful event where our candidate will receive his flag from the president, who will be here in Kano for the purpose of giving him the flag”, he said.
On his part, the APC governorship candidate and current Kano deputy governor, Nasiru Gawuna, said nothing would stop him from winning the election.
