2023: Tension as hoodlums attack residence of Atiku’s ally Senator Lee Maeba in Port Harcourt

Some hoodlums have attacked the Port Harcourt residence of Senator Lee Maeba, a supporter of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar.

According to reports, the hoodlums, numbering over 200, on Thursday morning, December 8, 2022, emerged from a nearby street, shot at the entrance of the house, and eventually broke into the former Senator’s compound.

Some vehicles in the compound were destroyed during the attack. The security guard was said to have escaped during the attack.

Supporters of the Atiku Abubakar were to hold stakeholders meeting at the premises before the incident.

At the time of filing this report, a team of operatives of the Department of State Services and policemen along with the Senator were seen examining the damages done.

Senator Maeba is the Rivers State coordinator of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Recall that the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and Governor Wike of Rivers have been at daggers drawn over removal of Iyoricha Ayu, the party’s national chairman, and the need for the South to produce the party’s National Chairman.

Wike his joined in the fight with other governors namely; , Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State. They are now known as G5.
