The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele has arrived in Daura, Katsina state to meet President Muhammadu Buhari amid agitation for the extension of swapping old naira notes for newly redesigned notes.
Recall that, Buhari has been in his country home since Wednesday on a working visit to commission projects executed by the administration of Governor Bello Aminu Masari.
According to reports, the apex bank governor is scheduled to meet the president in his private home in Daura today, Sunday, January 29, 2023.
With less than 48 hours to the January 31 deadline for the old naira notes to stop being used as legal tender, it remains uncertain what Emefiele will propose to the president.
However, Emefiele is expected to receive approval from the president on the next action of the CBN.
