Is Davido’s son Ifeanyi Adeleke dead?

The son of popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido and his fiance, Chioma Rowland has been reported to be dead just a few days after the couple celebrated his 3rd birthday.

According to multiple reports, Davido’s son, Ifeanyi Adeleke died after drowning inside his father’s pool following an effort to train him to swim.

Davido was seen in a video shared on social media training his son on how to swim, he carried the three-year-old boy and made him flap his legs in the water as he gave him instructions on what to do.

Davido who was obviously impressed by his son’s performance was heard commenting on how he was a fast learner. “This one go learn quick,” he said.

Sources within the family however confirmed that Ifeanyi Adeleke is dead.

A source who spoke under anonymity revealed that the young boy drowned and by the time he was rushed to the hospital, it was too late. “The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital,” the source said.

“By the time they rushed him to Lagoon Hospital it was already too late,” the source added.

According to Gazette, another source close to the family said Davido was travelling in the United States when the incident happened. Chioma was believed to have travelled to Ibadan and left the child with a female domestic assistant.

NIGERIANS MOURN

Millions of Nigerians have taken to their social media handles to mourn the death of Davido’s son. Although the family is yet to release an official statement, entertainment lovers and fans across the world have sent their condolences to the family.

Comedia Ayo Makun (AY) posted on his Instagram handle saying he has been hit by the news. “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad,” he said.

Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape also sent out her condolences. She said “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”

Many other Nigerians have been sending their wishes as Ifeanyi becomes the most discussed topic in Nigeria as of Tuesday morning.
