BREAKING: Father Mbaka is not in our custody, DSS reacts as reports says whereabouts of Fr. Mbaka is unknown

Following the reports from the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC), on Wednesday, declaring that the whereabouts of Father Mbaka is unknown, the Department for State Security (DSS) has clarified that he is not in their custody.

OYC on Wednesday through a statement announced that Father Mbaka has not been seen since Tuesday saying that it is “giving the Federal Government 48 hours to produce the priest”.

In the press release signed by the President-General of OYC, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, he alleged that the Federal Government had abducted him.

He said: “We are giving the Federal Government 48 hours to produce the priest, else they should be ready to face Igbo youths. They were dining and wining with him all along and now that he told the truth, they are no longer comfortable with him.

However, in a swift reaction by the Department for State Security (DSS), they denied the allegations saying he was never picked by the DSS.

In a conversation with Vanguard, the DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunaya, said: “Rev Fr Mbaka is not with the DSS. The DSS did not pick him up, please.”
