BREAKING: Nigerian police confirm investigating MC Oluomo over threat against Igbo in Lagos

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has launched an investigation into the alleged threat issued against Igbo by the Lagos State Parks Management Committee Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa confirmed while featuring in an interview with TV Arise News on the preview of the governorship and state assembly elections slated for Saturday.

MC Oluomo, in a viral video had threatened that Igbo people living in Lagos should not bother to come to the polls if they will not for the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

“We have begged them. If they don’t want to vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them, mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit down at home,” he said.

Reacting to it, Lagos CP said the video clips are being reviewed and the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation.

He said: “Yes, I can confirm that all the video clips are being reviewed. The statement, the assertions, and the threats are subjects of the ongoing investigation.

“And as we proceed, if facts are established against the provision of the law, nobody is above the law in this country. Our existence is regulated by law and we are bound together by law.

“The political process is regulated by law and nobody can be above that. So if these allegations are established, you can be sure that appropriate criminal and legal proceedings will be initiated against the specific actors.”
