Omotoso explained the collapsing of the structures of LP for APC is in the actualization of Tinubu’s move to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Omotoso described Tinubu as a visionary leader, who he believed has all it takes to rescue the nation from the current socio-economic quagmire.

Joining APC through South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), Omotoso declared that it was obvious that LP presidential candidate could not win the election, thereby deciding to support the APC candidate who has the wherewithal to fix the nation.

Southwest LP chairman, Banji Omotoso, led the party leadership to collapse its structure on Monday in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.

Omotoso said: “Labour Party presently is a shaky platform for anybody to contest, Labour Party is a failure platform for anybody to contest, I don’t know Peter Obi and I’m less concerned about him but I’m concerned about those who are celebrating the Labour Party mediocre within Nigeria.

“Labour Party is not ready to serve Nigeria, that is why we decided to leave the party and come to the APC. I collapsed the structure of the party in Ekiti state.

“We are the pillars of that party in the South-West, and to the glory of God Almighty, we have pulled down the structure today.

“We are leaving and collapsing the Labour Party structure in the entire South-West through Senator Dayo Adeyeye into APC. Nobody born of good parents in Yoruba land that will bypass Tinubu and vote for another party.”

Receiving the members of LP to APC, the National Chairman of SWAGA, Prince Dayo Adeyeye watched the LP members tear their LP membership cards and declared their defection to APC.

Adeyeye disclosed that as part of the moves in actualising the promise to deliver 13million votes for Tinubu in February 25, 2023, SWAGA wooed LP to collapse its structure in South West for APC before the general election.

He said: “About 10 days ago, we started the move to collapse LP into APC.
They want to join APC through SWAGA.
The purpose is to support the group for actualization of Asiwaju presidential vision.

“I am elated. Here we have the leaders of Labour Party in South West formerly tore their cards and we swept them away. They decided to join APC for one reason only, to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become the president of Nigeria.

“We are more confident that here in the South West we are going to have maximum vote. Don’t forget that SWAGA had promised 13 million votes for Asiwaju over two years ago. And were still pursuing that goal. That’s why we are wooing more groups and political parties to join us. We are recording more successes in that regard.
Through us, they will meet APC leaders and the presidential candidate of the party.”

Oyetunde Ojo, a former member House of Representatives, enjoined the defectors to go to their individuals units to canvass for votes for Tinubu till he’s declared winner of the presidential election.

He said: “Chief Obafemi Awolowo, M.K.O Abiola came. Now it’s Tinubu we have. So, let’s join hands and work for him.
Let’s look at his anticidents. What he wants to do is for the future.

“He has told us that he would fix our power. There’s no economy that can run without power. He will fix our power.”
