Major contenders in the presidential race, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, were all present.

A report had earlier emerged that the APC candidate is currently in London, United Kingdom.

This was rumoured to have made the ruling party shift its inauguration of its 422- member Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), earlier scheduled for Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, to Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022.

But in a statement issued by the Director-General, of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, said the adjustment of the timetable and schedule of activities is in order to accommodate growing interests showing by various political tendencies in being the party of the campaign council.

He, also stated that a new date for the kick-off would be announced soon.
