BREAKING: Sultan announces the start of Ramadan in Nigeria

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muahmmad Sa’ad Abubakar has announced that Ramadan will start in the county on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

The Nigerian Muslims spiritual leader made this known during a broadcast on Friday.

He said the new moon for Ramadan was sighted in Zamfara, Sokoto and some other parts of Nigeria.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia earlier announced the sighting of the Ramadan moon.

Ramadan is a sacred month where Muslims throughout the world observe fasting from dawn to dusk.
