Honourable Abdulmumin Jibrin, the Campaign Director General of All Progressives Congress (APC) frontline presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially joined the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Recall, Jubrin who was announced earlier in the year as Tinubu’s campaign director general disclosed his resignation from the ruling party on May 7, 2022 saying, “I have done my best for APC. Its time to move on.”
His shocking notice came less than 48 hours after he accepted to return to the National Assembly after accepting the APC nomination form purchased and presented to him by his Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency at his country home.
The former lawmaker did not give any reason for his decision to quit the APC, but sources say this was related to the decision not to give him the party’s ticket to return to the house of representatives.
The source said there had been a crisis of confidence between Jibrin and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, for some time over local political issues.
It was claimed that Ganduje who is the leader of the APC in Kano state denied Jubrin automatic ticket to return to house of representative representing Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency.

However, amid this, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu, waded into the political disagreement between Abdulmunin Jibrin and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state, but it seems no truce was met.
The new party which Abdulmumin Jubrin joined is also the same party which former Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso defected to from the APC.
He recently said the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), the doors of the party are open to everyone, including those at loggerheads with him.
Kwankwaso is a presidential aspirants under the party and also the national leader of the party in the said.
