Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has invited members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who are Senators and members of the House of Representatives to an Iftar.
The Vice President who recently declared his interest to run for President in the upcoming 2023 general elections has been calling several meetings lately in an attempt to garner supports for his ambition.
In a letter read by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan during plenary, the Vice President invited Senators to join him at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday April 12, 2022 for Ramadan Iftar.
In a similar manner, the Vice President invited members of the APC House Caucus to an Iftar on Wednesday April 13, 2022.
Senators and Members of the House of Representatives are automatic delegates of the APC presidential primaries scheduled to hold next month and play a key role in the emergence of the party’s presidential candidate.
He has already met with members of the Progressive Governors Forum whom he hosted a similar iftar on Sunday.
