The Chairman of the occasion and former Vice President Namadi Sambo, while declaring the event opened, urged the party members to close ranks and rescue Nigeria from ineptitude and bad governance.

However, the governor in the governors in Wike’s camp boycotted the event.

The Governors include Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State; Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Wike.

Recall, since the election of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as the standard-bearer of the party in May, the group has insisted that Ayu must resign as a condition for supporting the PDP presidential candidate.

They claimed that power is more concentrated in the north and for them to throw their support behind Atiku, the PDP national chairman who is from the north must resign.
