Crises rock Soun of Ogbomoso Stool as Laoye ruling house rejects Prince Ghandi

The LAOYE ruling house of Ogbomoso has rejected what they tagged as “imposition” of Prince Afolabi Ghandi who has been parading himself as the Soun Elect. 

This decision was made by Alhaji (Prince) Abdulwahab Oyetunde Laoye who happens to be the Chairman of the screening committee constituted by the Laoye ruling house,

Alhaji (Prince) Abdulwahab Oyetunde Laoye , who spoke at the press conference organised by the Laoye ruling house in the early hours of today, Thursday, 31st March, 2022 said that the Kingmakers have shortchanged the interest of the family by choosing a candidate outside the choice of the family.

He registered the displeasure of the family over this act describing the Prince Afolabi Ghandi whose name was reportedly forwarded to the state government as the choice of the Chiefs but not the family’s choice. He insists that the family is yet to make a choice.

The head of the Laoye ruling house, Prince Olawole Laoye (JP) implored Oyo State government not to act against the interest of the royal family and Ogbomoso sons and daughters by declaring Prince Afolabi Ghandi as the crown prince. He stated further that such action can cause anarchy within the ancient town.

He therefore assured the public that the right course of action shall be taken and just one candidate who will be the only family choice shall be forwarded as the crown prince.

Earlier, the family had sent a letter of complaint to the office of the executive governor of Oyo State registering their displeasure over an act of imposition embarked upon by the kingmakers. Officials of the local government hosting the ruling house, Ogbomoso North Local government were as well accused of involvement in the dastardly act.

Finally, the Mogaji who is the family head of the ruling house implored everyone to disregard any news about “Ghandi” being the king-elect.
