The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele will be spending another three weeks in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) as the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja reserved ruling of his bail application .
Recall that Emefiele was suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and subsequently detained by the DSS on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
Emefiele on Tuesday, approached the court challenging his detention by the Department of State Services (DSS).

He prayed for the court to enforce his right to liberty and freedom of movement, as there is no basis for his continuous detention.
Counsel to both DSS and the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation opposed the bail application of Godwin Emefiele.
The respondents told the court that Emefiele is a flight risk.
Counsel for the respondents equally argued that the suspended CBN governor was being detained on the order of the Chief Magistrate Court of the FCT.
However, the presiding judge, Justice Hamza Muazu, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, after hearing the arguments of all parties in the matter reversed the judgement till July 13, 2023.
