In the photos that surfaced on social media, the monarch and his family members were present at the graduation ceremony which held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

This comes months after one of his sons, Mustapha Sanusi Lamido graduated with a first class in Economics from a university in the United Kingdom.
He graduated from the University of Portsmouth, London, on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
The former monarch, his wives, children, and family friends, including the Emir of Zazzau, HRH Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, attended the graduation.
Sanusi who was governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) between 2009 to 2014 was dethroned as Emir of the ancient city of Kano by Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje on March 9, 2020.
