JUST IN: Former PDP secretary Taofeek Olayiwola dies at 62

The former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Taofeek Olayiwola, is dead, aged 62.

According to reports, the politician died on Wednesday morning, December 21, 2022, at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

Olayiwola was the state party secretary during the tenure of late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Confirming his demise on phone, the PDP state Public Relations Officer, Akeem Olatunji, described him as an easygoing person and a great politician who believed in live and let’s live.

Olayiwola was was former Council Chairman of the Ona Ara Local Government, and also the Balogun of Araromi Aperin in Ona-Ara LGA.

Reacting to the politician’s death on his social media page, Hon. Musibau Sanusi Shaba, the Chairman of Ona-Ara LG said; “I received with a great shock the death of Alhaji Chief Taofeek Tunde Olayiwola, Balogun of Araromi Aperin in Ona-Ara LGA, my boss, my leader, the former Ona-Ara LG council boss, the former state secretary of PDP in Oyo State.

“May Almighty Allah forgive all his shortcomings, may his gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace, and may God Almighty be with the families, friends, and political associates.

“May God give us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Political Associates in Oyo State and Ona-Ara Local Government will continue to remember your indelible marks.”
