JUST IN: Guinea Bissau’s Wild Dogs clip Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ wings in Abuja

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have failed to beat Guinea-Bissau in matchday three of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Abuja on Friday evening.

The Wild Dogs triumphed over Eagles in a 1-0 thriller on Friday.

The win against Nigeria means that the Eagles have lost their spot at the top of Group A to Guinea Bissau.

Before the game, Nigeria was toping the group with six points while Guinea Bissau had four points

Guinea Bissau’s Mama Balde scored the only goal of the match, which set his team apart in the 29th minute of game time, taking them to seven points to top the group.


This is the second time the Eagles will be meeting Guinea Bissau. Super Eagles had defeated the Djurtus 3-0 the last time both teams met in a group game at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
