JUST IN: Makinde dumps Mukaila Auxilliary as Park Management boss after using him to secure his second-term governorship ambition in Oyo

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has sacked Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi popularly called Mukaila Auxiliary as the chairman of the state Park Management System.

This was contained in a terse statement issued by the governor’s newly appointed Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, issued on Monday, May 29, 2023, 

According to the statement, all members of the Disciplinary Committee Park Management System headed by Alhaji Mukaila Auxiliary are also disbanded.

The dissolution of the committee takes place with  immediate effect.

The statement reads, “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023”.

The development comes hours after Seyi Makinde was sworn in as the governor of the state for a second term in office.

The governor had reportedly used Auxiliary and his team to threaten opposition before and during the 2023 election in order to secure another term in office.

Auxiliary was made Chairman, Park Management System (PMS) of the state in 2020. The position was said to have been given to him by Governor Seyi Makinde as compensation for his support during the 2019 guber election.

This came just a year after return from six years jail term for his alleged role in the bloody clash between members of their factions which claimed dozens of innocent lives, along with the wanton destruction of property.
