Properties and goods worth multi-billion naria have been destroyed as fire gutted a shopping plaza near the Relief Market in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Details of the incident is unknown as of the time of filing this report but some eyewitnesses said it started from a shop within the plaza on Friday, January 6, 2022.
It was gathered that the plaza housing multi-billion naira worth of goods is owned by traders yet to return from the Yuletide holidays.

The state fire chief, Martin Agbili, did not respond to calls and messages to his mobile line.
But the men of the state fire service were already on the ground battling to put out the fire as of the time of filing this report.
This incident comes barely three weeks after no fewer than three shops were destroyed as fire gutted Ose Main Market in Onitsha, Anambra.
The incident is contained in a statement signed by the Director/Fire Chief of Anambra Fire Service, Mr Martin Agbili, and made available to newsmen in Onitsha.
According to the statement, at about 1.02 a.m. on Saturday, the Anambra State Fire Service received a distress call of fire outbreak at No 4 Ajasa Street, Ose Main Market, Onitsha, where they sell chemicals.
