President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, received an award from the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum for his role in “strengthening peace in Africa”.
The award was presented to Buhari by the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum (ADPF) in Nouakchott, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
The Forum for Peace was founded in Abu Dhabi in 2015 and is “dedicated to strengthening Islamic narratives of peace building and tolerance in a world of religious pluralism”.

Present at the event were Mohamed Ghazouani, president of Mauritania; Abdallah Bin Bayyah, president of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies; and Al Mahfoudh Bin Bayyah, secretary-general of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Promoting Peace.
According to ADPF Buhari was honored because of his leadership role in promoting peace in Africa through regular interventions counsels and conciliatory position reports.
Meanwhile, Buhari also participated in the African Conference For Peace 2023.
The president during his speech thank the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum under the leadership of Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah for the honour of norminatting him as the recipient of “strengthening peace in Africa”.
