“I’m honestly disturbed over the trend of eye problems particularly among the poor people, who cannot afford treatment within their reach. We call on non-governmental organisations and other corporate bodies, just like we have now, to give us assistance. That will be helpful,” he said.
Also, one of the Project Coordinator of ‘Jigi Jagaban’ Ayo Adegbite said that initiative emanated from the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu which started in Lagos and intended to reach every part of the Country if elected in 2023.
Adegbite said that the outreach tergeted 5,000 beneficiaries across ailments. “We have so far distributed 1,000 eyeglasses and still other days to work. We are attending to pregnant women and giving them delivery pack.
“This is not about politics. We are not doing this for only APC members and no one is asking for anybody’s voter card. We announced the free medical treatment on radio and everyone is qualified to benefit.”
He said that the project has been done in several states while it intended to cover the country before the 2023 general elections.
