Barely after an hour of our report that the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde is yet to make any official statement on the death of Bello Barakat, the Press secretary to the Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa made a reaction.
In a press release titled “Oyo govt, police vow to fish out killers of raped student, pregnant woman in Ibadan”, the press secretary reinstated the government’s commitment to finding the killer of bello barakat.
In the statement which was dated the 5th of June, 2002, He said, “The government of Oyo State and the Oyo State Police Command have vowed to work harmoniously to ensure the arrest of killers of a pregnant woman, Azeezat Shomuyiwa and an 18-year-old student of Federal College of Animal Health and Production, Barakat Bello, who was raped and killed in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.”
Mr Adisa also indicated that the Special Adviser to the governor on Security Matters, Fatai Owoseni, a retired Commissioner of Police and the new Commissioner of Police in the state, Enwonwu Nwachukwu paid a condolence visit to the families of the two victims on Friday.
