In a viral video circulating the internet, some of the passengers were seen sitting on the rail track in what looked like a remote location.
“The train took off from Ibadan this morning, heading to Lagos. It was when it got to somewhere in Abeokuta that the incident happened. My colleague’s sister, who happened to be on board, was left stranded for more than an hour,” a source, who asked not be named, told FIJ.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time a train would break down this year. On January 31, passengers traveling from Kano to Lagos spent over 32 hours in the bush after the train they boarded developed a mechanical fault.
