Nigerians on social media have continued to react differently to the trending images of prominent politicians and lawyers dozing off during the ongoing Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) sitting at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Recall, it was reported earlier that Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, among other top politicians, had earlier arrived at the PEPC sitting at the Court of Appeal for the judgment in the three petitions challenging the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.
In some viral pictures circulating on social media, lawyers present at the sitting were captured dozing off during the ongoing proceedings of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.

Also, former Kano governor and national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo; Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, and some journalists were also among those captured sleeping.
Since the images went viral, Nigerians have taken to the popular social media platform X (formerlyn Twitter) to express their mixed reactions to the development.

While some attribute it to supernatural forces, others say it’s due to tiredness.
Reacting, an X user @Dr penking wrote, “At a point where they were needed most, they slept.”
Another user, @Egorose183263 tweeted, “Bro, I don’t think this is ordinary. Juju, go plenty.”
@MoyinOluwaAfo wrote; “Most of these guys do not sleep over the night. Bants apart, they have to prep for this occasion.”
@king_pearxe said; “Imagine lawyers judging the future of Nigeria are sleeping on live television.”
@AdediranAfolabi reacted; “Everyone is sleeping. The country is sleeping. The lawyers are sleeping. The Reporters are sleeping. We are a sleeping people to be precise. Let’s continue to sleep our way into underdevelopment.”
