JUST IN: Tinubu swears in NPC commissioner as he presides over FEC meeting

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Olayinka Oladunjoye as a federal commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC)

The swearing-in ceremony on Monday preceded the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), meeting at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.

Prior to his appointment by the President, Oladunjoye was the former commissioner of education and commerce and cooperatives in lagos state.

He replaced Mrs Bimbo Salu-Hudeyin who was recently given an appointment by the Lagos state government.

Oladunjoye, after being sworn in, pledged to work with all stakeholders especially in technology to achieve a better data driven census.


Meanwhile, Tinubu, at the time of filing this report, is presiding over the week’s FEC meeting, which is also being attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan.

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, whose house was gutted by fire weekend was absent at the cabinet meeting.

Other vacant seats were those of the Minister of Labour, Hon. Simon Lalong and the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr (Mrs) Betta Edu.
