Who is Judas, who is Jesus – Tinubu, Osinbajo supporters fight dirty ahead of 2023 APC presidential primaries

Supporters of the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo have been at loggerheads after Osinbajo finally declared to run for president in 2023.

The Vice President made his intention known yesterday, April 11, to run for president ending months of speculations and denials.

This had generated serious controversial arguments, especially on social media as he will be running against his erstwhile boss, Bola Tinubu in the same political party.

Tinubu, a former Lagos state governor, announced his ambition to run for President in 2023 election in January. He is said to be a successful king maker, having brought to the national fore some individuals who had worked with him, especially during his time as governor.

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is one of the individuals claimed to have been groomed by the APC national leader. Osinbajo served under his government as Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Lagos state between 1999-2007.

It was also claimed that Osinbajo became the VP of the country courtesy of Tinubu’s influence. The VP has never been into any political post before being selected as President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in 2015.

Although the Vice President has not categorically reacted to Tinubu’s ambition, the APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu has however expressed his own thoughts on Osinbajo’s new declaration.

Tinubu when asked about his thoughts on his “son” Osinbajo’s declaration simply replied that he has no son son grown enough to declare. “I have no son grown enough to declare,” Tinubu said.

Reacting to Osinbajo’s announcement, supporters of Tinubu stated that the VP’s announcement despite knowing fully well that his former boss is interested in the same position is an act of betrayal, liking the VP to biblical Judas.

Ayekooto, an online commentator wrote: Tinubu has supported him (Osinbajo) since 1999, made him Attorney-General for 8 years, engaged him as APC Attorney. Nominated him as VP. Tinubu needs his support first time since 1999 but he declined.”

Jagaban Borgu wrote that: “Since 1999 they should just be giving you, they should be endorsing you, they should be choosing you, they should be selecting you they should be nominating you

Pele The Chosen One. Welcome to the field , You’d see the reason why many men hate one MAN.” Jagaban Borgu said.

Another supporter of Tinubu wrote that: “Osinbajo this! Osinbajo that! Lamba ni every corner. Lamba la n je. Asiwaju is still our preferred Candidate that will ace the 2023 Presidential contest.”

Osinbajo’s loyalists in a counter argument stated that the VP is never a Judas but a saviour who saved Tinubu’s government.

It was argued that Osinbajo as lawyer used his intellectual ability to win several legal cases for Tinubu, reformed Lagos state judiciary system, saved his government from mess and has remain loyal till date.

Musa Jacob wrote that: ‘If Tinubu didn’t see the intellectual ability that Osinbajo possess to drive his agenda he wouldn’t have employed him. Also, there is no Tinubu’s dominance in Lagos without Osinbajo’s intellect in fact Osinbajo served him with full loyalty that deserves acknowledgement from all Tinubu’s quarters.”

Apesinola wrote: “I even read a letter from Pa Osinbajo that Tinubu paid his school fees from secondary school. PYO should not have ambition. On the other hand the successes BAT is claiming today are the hand work of the teams put together.”

Tumuno Tonye wrote that: Osinbajo declaration isn’t and never a betrayal. Can anyone reference a verbal or written agreement existing in the media archives between these gentlemen in regards to their personal choices?”

Meanwhile, the APC primary election is slated for June 2023. Asides from Tinubu and Osinbajo, Minister for Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, former governors Orji Uzor Kalu and Rochas Okorocha and serving governors of Kogi and Ebonyi states Yahaya Bello and Dave Umahi are also seeking the ruling party’s ticket.
