How to Apply for 2021 Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship

Are you a Nigerian student looking forward to studying in Japan through the fully funded Japanese Government MEXT scholarship? Are you finding it difficult to apply for the scholarship?

Here are four (4) step procedures required for applying for the 2021 Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship for International Students successfully :

NB: This scholarship is not limited to only undergraduate students, For full details about who can apply, Click Here.

Note: Direct Placement Form is to be filled by those who speaks Japanese and has no necessity for preparatory education, or enter a university course that has no Japanese language requirement;

      • Academic transcript(s) for all school years of secondary school/university attended
      • Certificate(s) of graduation of school/university attended (SSCE Certificate)
      • Secondary School Result (not compulsory)
      • Recommendation letter from either a class teacher or principal of the last school attended Recommendation Letter Sample

Note: This is a sample. Any form/style of letter is to be accepted.

      • Certificate of enrollment (JAMB Certificate)
      • Certificate of university enrollment qualification examination (JAMB Result)
      • Certificate of language proficiency (if available)

Step 2: Certificate of Health.

      • Download the Certificate of Health.
      • Note: Certificate of Health must be filled in by a professional medical doctor.
      • You’ll be required to pay some amount for your blood sample test and also have an X-ray.

Step 3: Compile your Credentials

      • Arrange 2 separate copies of your document according to the arrangement in Step 1 above and staple each seperately
      • NB: Original copies of your certificates should not be included, only photocopies are required.

Step 4: Submit the 2 two copies of your Credentials to the Embassy of Japan in Nigeria

      • Completed application forms could be submitted either in person or by Post to the following address:

        P.M.B.5070, Abuja
