Study-In-UK: 2021 Global Future Scholarships in the University of Manchester, UK

The University of Manchester presents an an opportunity for International Students to omplete their higher studies with ease by applying for the Global Futures Scholarship.

The scholarship award is rganized by the University of Manchester and is open to both undergraduate and master’s students. 

The University of Manchester introduced the scholarship award, intending to provide some support to needy students willing to acquire higher and quality education but are not capable of paying for the high-cost educational expenses.

Scholarship Details

The University of Mnachester Global Futures Scholarship offers a total of £300,000 to international students, commencing their studies in September 2021. The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and master’s students. 

Applicants must be domiciled in one of the countries listed below.

  • Nigeria
  • Kenya
  • Ghana
  • Egypt
  • Morocco
  • Tanzania
  • Zambia
  • Zimbabwe and
  • South Africa.

Scholarship Requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship, applicants must:

UNDERGRADUATE:

  • Applicants must have, or be working towards, either A-levels or the IB Diploma qualification and must be applying for direct first year entry.
  • Applicants for the African awards must have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time programme at Manchester and must submit an online scholarship application form by 20 May 2021 with awards made following the confirmation of IB and A-level results in July and August 2021. The application form will be emailed to all relevant offer-holders.
  • Applicants will be considered for the award based on academic merit and the quality of their scholarship application.
  • Applicants must be self-funded (ie not sponsored).
  • Applicants for Medicine (MBChB) Dentistry (BDS) or Architecture degrees are not eligible for the award.
  • Applicants must have selected The University of Manchester as their firm or insurance UCAS choice by 10 June 2021.

MASTERS:

  • Applicants for the African awards must have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time programme at Manchester and must submit an online scholarship application form by 12 June 2021. The application form will be emailed to all eligible offer-holders.
  • Applicants will be considered for the award based on academic merit and the quality of their scholarship application.
  • Applicants must be self-funded (ie not sponsored).
  • Applicants for MBA, MPhil, Master of Architecture (MArch), Architecture and Urbanism (MA), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Clinical Medicine and Dentistry degrees are not eligible for the award. 

Scholarship Duration and Reward

The University will offer awards totalling £300,000 to international students, commencing their studies in September 2021.

UNDERGRADUATE

  • Successful applicants will receive £5,000 for the first year of study with a further £5,000 awarded in the second year of study, conditional on attainment of 60% average in the first year.

MASTERS:

  • Successful applicant will receive £6,000 which will be allocated on the basis of academic excellence.

Method of Application

Interested Candidates should follow this step to apply:

STEP 1: Eligible students only need to apply for admission at the campus. The application form will be emailed to all relevant offer-holders that needs to be filled by the students.

STEP 2: Submit Required Documents

NOTE: 

  • Undergraduates: You must submit an online scholarship application form by 20 May 2021. The application form will be emailed to all relevant offer-holders.
  • Masters: Applicants for the African awards must have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time programme at Manchester and must submit an online scholarship application form by 12 June 2021. The application form will be emailed to all eligible offer-holders and awards will be made by 3 July 2021.
