As of Saturday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup round of 16 matches, the following are the leading top scorers in the tournament in Qatar.

Recall that the Netherlands defeated the USA 3-1, while Argentina won 2-1 against Australia.

Argentina’s captain, Lionel Messi, is currently the joint-top scorer in the ongoing World Cup with three goals.

While his counterpart Cristiano Ronaldo has only found the back of the net once in the tournament.

Messi scored a goal in Argentina’s World Cup last-16 victory over Australia.

Apart from the Paris Saint-Germain star, Netherlands winger Cody Gakpo, Spain’s Alvaro Morata, and England’s Marcus Rashford, among others, also have three goals.
