Clubless Cristiano Ronaldo puts Man Utd drama behind him by taking Portugal team-mates out for dinner

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly took the entire Portugal squad out for dinner in Doha this week as he puts his Manchester United nightmare in the rear-view mirror.

The 37-year-old scored from the penalty spot in his side’s 3-2 win over Ghana on Thursday in what was his first match since his United contract was ripped up.

As a reward for the victory, Portugal boss Fernando Santos his team Friday afternoon off and Ronaldo decided to treat them all to a fancy meal out on the town.

The now former United star took his team-mates to the Tatel de Doha restaurant on Al Maha Island – with which Ronaldo has links – and he apparently picked up the whole tab too.

A photo of the group emerged on social media, with Bernardo Silva, Joao Cancelo and Jose Sa – who all apparently decided to spent the evening with their loves ones instead – the only squad members missing.

It’s understood the players were there until around 11.30 pm when the team bus picked them up and drove them back to their team headquarters.

Ronaldo’s harmonious gesture to for his international colleagues serves as a jarring contrast to the inharmonious way he ended things at Old Trafford.

Following Portugal’s win over Ghana, Ronaldo declared the saga over his dramatic United exit over, though accusations and insults levelled at Erik ten Hag, unnamed members of United’s board and the club’s owner, the Red Devils are the ones left picking up the pieces.
