Gabriel Jesus and Declan Rice’s late goal give Arsenal 3-1 victory over Man United (Video)

Gabriel Jesus and Declan Rice’s late goal gave Arsenal 3-1 victory over Man United at Emirates Stadium.

United took the lead in the first half through Marcos Rashford, but Arsenal equalized through Odegaard just before halftime.

Declan Rice scored his first-ever in an Arsenal shirt to give the Gunners a 2-1 lead in the 96th minute.

Jesus then scored the third goal in the 101st minute, sealing a memorable victory for the Gunners.

What happened in the match?

United thought they had won the game when Alejandro Garnacho’s 87th-minute finish was ruled out for offside by the video assistant referee, leaving the score at 1-1.

In the final eight minutes, Declan Rice’s deflected shot gave Arsenal the lead, before substitute Gabriel Jesus raced clear to seal the victory as the stadium erupted in joy.

Christian Eriksen’s excellent pass played in Marcus Rashford, who cut inside and sent an unerring right-foot drive past Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale in the 27th minute.

The Gunners, who had already missed a golden opportunity when struggling Kai Havertz miskicked with the goal at his mercy, were level almost immediately when captain Martin Odegaard was given too much space and sent an emphatic finish into the bottom corner.

Arsenal, who had a penalty overturned by VAR after referee Anthony Taylor initially ruled Havertz had been fouled, missed a glorious late opportunity when Bukayo Saka shot straight at Andre Onana in a game that rarely reached the heights despite a lot of effort.

United’s celebrations were cut short with three minutes remaining when substitute Garnacho raced clear to score, but the VAR ruled he was just offside, allowing Arsenal to deliver two devastating blows.

The win is a major boost for Arsenal, who are now unbeaten in their last four matches in the Premier League.

They are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Manchester City.

Manchester United, on the other hand, are in a state of crisis. They have now lost two of their last four matches and are in eleventh place in the table.

They need to start winning soon if they want to challenge for a top-four finish.

What next?

On September 16 at 3:00 p.m., Manchester United will play Brighton at Old Trafford. The next day, September 17 at 4:30 p.m., Arsenal will visit Goodison Park to play against Everton.
