Lionel Messi’s father worries over Barcelona’s financial crisis amid transfer rumours

Lionel Messi’s father and agent, Jorge Messi,  has revealed that no decision will be made about his son’s footballing future until the end of the season.

Jorge Messi, however, is anxious about Barça’s pursuit, as he wants to close Leo’s future as soon as possible. He is not confident about the Catalans’ financial plan, and the FFP rules.

Jorge spoke to La Liga today to find about the details regarding Barcelona’s viability plan. He wants to know all updates regarding the plan as he does not trust anyone in the situation – Barcelona or La Liga.

He sees several contradictions with Barcelona’s situation and the FFP structure, and wants everything to be quick as he is suspicious.

Spanish journalist, Gerard Romero has dropped a bombshell regarding Barcelona’s pursuit of Lionel Messi, saying that the club have made another informal offer to the player recently.

Tomorrow, there will be an important meeting to discuss Barcelona’s viability plan. As it stands, La Liga are not convinced regarding it. They do not understand where a portion of the plan – €40 million – is coming from.

Xavi and his staff are still confident that Messi’s return to Barcelona will go through for the good, but the club’s board is not fully convinced about the situation.

According to Marca’s report, the Argentine veteran has plenty of admirers and will not be short of options come the summer.

As things stand, Messi has not renewed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and looks set to seek different pastures.

The most concrete offer has come from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia – in what would be a record-breaking deal – but this is not the only offer on the table. Barcelona have made clear their interest in bringing Messi back ‘home’ to Camp Nou.
