“No Cristiano Ronaldo No Problem” as Manchester United thrash Nottingham Forrest 3-0 at Old Trafford (Video)

Man United thrashed Nottingham Forrest 3-0 on Tuesday night in their first Premier League match this season since Cristiano Ronaldo’s Old Trafford exit.

Earlier this month, Ronaldo left Old Trafford following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Marcos Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fred all scored for Manchester United as the Reds earn a comfortable 3-0 win over Nottingham Forrest.

United returned to Premier League action after a routine 2-0 victory against Burnley thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford, with the latter continuing in his rich vein of form after the World Cup.

The Reds have a deserved lead at the break, thanks to two brilliant goals involving Marcus Rashford. The first was straight from the training ground, as a clever corner by Christian Eriksen saw Rashford arrive perfectly to guide his low delivery into the top corner.

The second, moments later, saw Marcus turn provider, running down the left before squaring for Anthony Martial, who finished beyond Wayne Hennessey.

Forest thought they had one back on the stroke of half-time, when Ryan Yates headed into the back of te net from a free-kick, but following a VAR review his header was adjudged to have struck the boot of an offside Willy Boly, and was therefore chalked off.

Erik ten Hag will be very happy with the first-half performance of his side, and he – and the United supporters – will no doubt be hoping for more of the same when the action resumes.

Rashford has scored ten goals across all competitions this season, which comfortably makes him the club’s top goalscorer after scoring against a Nottingham Forest side that have now conceded 32 league goals.

Forest saw a goal ruled out for offside just before the break, and started quite well after the restart, but it was United who struck the next goal to seal the win.

The impressive Casemiro won the ball high up in the visitors’ half and played a pinpoint ball through to substitute Fred, and his Brazilian compatriot made no mistake.

An important win for United, and a vital three points going into the next Premier League game on New Year’s Eve.
