All the scores, results and talking points as Premier League action returns on Boxing Day and Arsenal go seven points clear at the top of the competition.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah all scored for Arsenal as the Premier League leaders completed a 3-1 comeback win over West Ham.

Mo Salah scored and provided an assist as Liverpool moved up to sixth in the Premier League table after beating Aston Villa in an entertaining clash at Villa Park.

The visitors led 2-0 at half-time after Salah had opened the scoring and teed up Virgil van Dijk for the second, before Ollie Watkins brought Villa back into it with a header just before the hour mark.

Darwin Nunez missed numerous chances to make sure of the points for Jurgen Klopp’s men, but 18-year-old Stefan Bajcetic sealed victory late on with his first professional goal.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United leapfrogged Manchester City in second place behind Arsenal as their scintillating form continued on Boxing Day with an easy win away at Leicester City.

Goals from Chris Wood, Miguel Almiron and Joelinton ensured a sixth win in a row for the Magpies as they leapfrogged Manchester City, who play against Leeds on 28 December, into second place.

The win puts Eddie Howe’s men seven points behind leaders Arsenal after the Gunners thrash West Ham at Emirates.

Newcastle also cemented their status as strong contenders for a top-four place after they capitalised on Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Brentford in Boxing Day’s early kick-off.

Meanwhile, Wolves’ new manager Julen Lopetegui saw his side secure a 2-1 win at the death at Goodison Park to pile pressure on Everton’s Frank Lampard.

It was a less happy day for the Premier League’s other new boss, Nathan Jones, whose Southampton side suffered a 3-1 home defeat to south coast rivals Brighton.

Elsewhere, there were boos at Selhurst Park as Fulham swept nine-man Crystal Palace aside 3-0.
