Nigeria’s Super Eagles dropped another point again after playing a disappointing 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

The Peseiro team made two consecutive draws in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign after playing a 1-1 draw against Lesotho in the first match.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles made five changes to the starting lineup with Bruno Onyemeachi, Ola Aina, Nathan Tella, Terrim Moffi and Moses Simon introduced.

However, the Eagles fell behind in the first half after a thunderbolt free-kick from Walter Musona in the 26th minute beat Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.

After a lackluster first half, the Eagles upped the ante, putting Zimbabwe on the defensive.

Substitute Kelechi Iheanacho scored in the 67th minute with a curler after being set up by Joe Aribo.

The Eagles made several attempts to score, but the Zimbabweans held firm at the neutral ground, denying Peseiro’s side a victory in their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles currently sit second in the group, with their chances of topping the group and earning an automatic ticket to the 2026 World Cup harmed by their second consecutive draw in just about their second match in the group.
